Hm. this is very different from the earlier Beatles works. I find that there are a few songs by the Beatles which I cannot extract from John Lennon and the violence surrounding his death- this is one of them.
"Come Together", for me, is an examination of who John Lennon might really have been. To some he was the messiah of the poor, working class, war sick citizens of the world. To others he was a dark god, urging them to commit terrible acts. To Yoko Ono, however, he was a quiet poet and lover- either way he was clearly a victim of senseless violence. Thanks to ~XxThe-Hanged-ManxX for inspiring me to examine this particular song and what meaning it holds for me.
